Design & Innovation

Moonflower 72 is a collaborative project between Nauta Design and Wider Yachts, an innovative superyacht that retains all the key features of modern yet timeless design, onboard liveability, and maximum connection with the marine environment.

The exterior styling reflects Nauta’s trademark preference for clean, uncluttered design without fussy or superfluous detailing. Key design elements include:

• Visual lightness
• Seamless outdoor/indoor connections
• Predominantly horizontal lines
• Extensive use of glass
• A chamfered sheer line amidships for a dynamic aspect

Hybrid Powertrain

The Moonflower 72 will be equipped with Wider’s latest generation hybrid technology, including:

• Two variable-speed generators supplied by MAN Energy Solutions (1,860 kW each)
• A sodium nickel battery bank (approx. 1 MW/h) from FZSoNick
• Optimized energy production to minimize consumption and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 20%

The endothermic engines are HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and Methanol ready to align with WIDER’s net-zero mission. Additionally:

• Energy dissipated as heat from the electric propulsion system will be recycled for onboard hot-water use.
• Onboard amenities have been optimized to ensure maximum efficiency.

The Island Beach Club

The Island is an innovative beach club concept patented by Nauta Design. Key features include:

• Multiple fold-down platforms expanding the swim platform and beach club
• Total area coverage of 117 sqm
• Seamless indoor and outdoor connection
• Unparalleled access to the sea on a 72-metre superyacht
