Cantiere Mimi Srl, in collaboration with Eng Luigi Prete’s studio, has come up with a revolutionary hull design without spoiling the typical lines of a fishing boat from Sorrento. The hull comprises 12 layers of fibreglass in the bottom in order to guarantee maximum strength in dealing with impact with sizable waves. The deck, which is also made of reinforced fibreglass, has wide water collection channels and drains, making the hull self-emptying. The variable geometry of the Gozzo Maestrale’s hull means that it is suitable for all types of sailing, both displacement for navigating along the coast, and for planing. The spacious weather deck, large holds, pleasant seating with side benches at the stern, and a central wheel (optional) make this boat extremely comfortable for both professional and sports fishing. As an alternative to the fibreglass version, the deck can also be recessed by 3 cm with solid teak boarding and a black rubber edging, making the boat even more elegant.
